hands with words:
When I see tattooed hands, I sometimes think about the inscribed hands Robert Mitchum's character in Charles Laughton's 1955 film, "Night of the Hunter" (top). It was cool how Spike Lee echoed that with Radio Raheem in "Do the Right Thing". Mitchum has the words Love and Hate tatooed on his knuckles, while Raheem wears the same two words as gold mega-rings. I don't think the monologues they deliver, describing the epic battle of right and left, love and hate, good and evil (directed at the fourth wall) are word-for-word identical, but they are pretty close...
